GINKGO coffeehouse opened in 1993 on Snelling Avenue in the heart of the Hamline Midway neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota. Its mission is to serve the community as a gathering place or place of respite. Key elements of its mission include:

• offering an environment that welcomes people of all backgrounds and cultures;
• supporting the communities near each location;
• offering high-quality products and friendly service; and
• providing a venue for talented professional musicians as well as a stage for musicians who play for fun and personal satisfaction.

GINKGO coffeehouse recently became smoke-free and now features a family-friendly atmosphere with a children's play area, a weekly art & story hour, and other family events.
